SAP Plans a Serious Talent Acquisition Campaign, Aiming to Hire 1000 New Employees By 2023

In 2023, SAP, a Fortune 500 company and one of the best places to work, plans to add 1000 new employees. The announcement coincides with widespread layoffs in the technology sector that have threatened to halt global economic expansion. The mid-level executive positions may be used by SAP to expand its current and future business operations throughout India and APAC, with Bangalore serving as the hub for its development and innovation initiatives. HCLTech had previously declared that they would hire 15,000 recent graduates for new positions and maintain the growth momentum into FY24 as new opportunities for the cloud and software development industries arise.

An Indian news outlet confirmed the information by quoting Sindhu Gangadharan, MD and SVP of SAP Labs India. The organisation would concentrate on establishing a strong talent pool starting with 1000 hires this year, Sindhu had confirmed, and India is a major talent acquisition centre for SAP’s India operations. The wave of layoffs and restructuring that hit the world’s tech companies, including SAP’s biggest rivals in the Cloud and IT consulting industries, hasn’t spared SAP. In order to restructure its global operations and give their customers more value-added, it fired 400 employees in India in February.

SAP announced their financial results for Q1 2023 last week. The results showed cloud revenue was up 24% and up 22% at constant currencies. SAP S/4HANA cloud revenue was up 77% and up 75% at constant currencies. At the time of this announcement, SAP’s CEO Christian Klein had stated that the company has now entered a powerful new phase in their strategic transformation. SAP CEO had added how with “the topline and bottom-line results clearly demonstrating the tipping point we passed in the fourth quarter 2022. Our cloud momentum continues at a fast pace which is contributing to our strong revenue and double-digit non-IFRS operating profit growth this quarter.”

SAP S/4HANA Cloud remains a key asset for India-based developers and product managers. The new staffer could also closely align with SAP’s new office in SF.

In more news from SAP, the company announced it is expanding its partnership with HP Inc. HP would be investing in the RISE with SAP solution to support  digital transformation, portfolio optimization and operational efficiency, empowering employees and customers with flexible workforce solutions across multiple regions. Scott Russell, Executive Board Member, Customer Success, SAP SE had stated, “HP was one of the first SAP strategic customers to standardize on SAP S/4HANA, and the company continues to serve as a model of how working with SAP can enable business transformation. This latest step forward not only supports the delivery of HP’s digital transformation – but also furthers HP’s vision of delivering future-ready services for its customers.”
