Chief HR Officer and Chief Legal Officer appointed by Rackspace Technology

A leading provider of end-to-end, multi-cloud technology solutions today announced the appointments of Michael Bross as chief legal officer and Kellie Teal-Guess as chief human resources officer.

Amar Maletira, CEO of Rackspace Technology, expressed his happiness to welcome Michael and Kellie to the executive leadership team. “Kellie and Mike have both led high-performing teams through transformational times and have combined more than 30 years of experience and an exemplary track record in their respective fields. Their hiring completes my executive leadership team as we work to implement our business strategy and take advantage of the enormous Multicloud market opportunity.

With a background in strategy, M&A integration, talent management, organisational design, change management, and human resources information systems, Teal-Guess has over 30 years of experience in the field of global human resources (HRIS).

The most recent positions Teal-Guess held were those of EVP, Chief People Officer at CyrusOne and Chief Human Resources Officer for Boston-based medical device company Cynosure. She oversaw internal real estate and global human resources in both positions. Teal-Guess spent four years with ProQuest LLC prior to joining CyrusOne. Prior to that, she worked for Dell Corporation for more than nine years as the executive director of human resources, providing support to its global Services Delivery group’s more than 18,000 employees.

The University of Texas at Arlington awarded Teal-Guess an M.B.A., and the University of Texas at San Antonio awarded her an M.P.A. and a B.A.

“I’m excited to support Rackspace’s efforts to improve employee satisfaction, global workforce strategy, and talent acquisition and assessment. The company’s differentiator is the culture of Racker. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have the chance to develop that culture and make my company the best place to work in the world, said Teal-Guess.

In addition to acting as Rackspace Technology’s interim chief legal officer, Bross has worked for the company for 16 years. In 2017, Rackspace hired Bross as a vice president and deputy general counsel as part of the purchase of Datapipe. For over ten years prior to joining Rackspace, Bross was General Counsel and Senior Vice President for Datapipe. Prior to Datapipe, Bross founded and served as managing partner of Bross Cummings Pereira & Moore, a full-service legal organisation that served corporate clients in the high-tech, telecommunications, and public-sector industries.

In addition to having a JD from Washington University School of Law, Bross also holds a BS in marketing and management information systems from Syracuse University.

“As a seasoned member of the Racket family, I’m thrilled to assume the Chief Legal Officer executive management position. Having had the opportunity to observe Rackspace’s development, I am incredibly enthusiastic about the direction we are taking the business. I am extremely passionate about Rackspace and the technology sector, and I look forward to working with Amar and the team to advance the Rackspace mission and goals, said Bross.
